A Speech by Tzvetan Vassilev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Corporate Commercial Bank AD, Delivered at the Receiving of the 2013 Banker of the Year Award on 2 December 2013

Good evening to everyone!

 

Ladies and gentleman, dear colleagues,

 

It is a great honor for me to receive the Banker newspaper award.

 

The crisis presents big challenges but it also provides big opportunities. The period between 2008 and 2013 was particularly successful for Corporate Commercial Bank AD. We managed to increase our assets and capital four times. I would like to thank the bank’s management and employees and of course, our clients, who did not succumb to the pressure and remained loyal to Corpbank AD. I would also like to thank to my family and my wife Antoaneta for their support and for withstanding all the challenges throughout this period.

 

I believe that the stability of the banking system is in the core of the stability of the economic development. I am glad that unlike the politicians, we — the Association of Banks in Bulgaria, despite having different interests, manage to find a common ground for working towards improving that stability. I would like to congratulate all the colleagues with the upcoming holidays and to wish all the best to them and their families throughout the next year.
