What Are the Consequences of the Judgment by the European Court of Human Rights Condemning Bulgaria?

On 30 August 2022, the European Court of Human Rights established a dual violation of Art. 6(1) of the ECHR (right to a fair trial), as well as a violation of Art. 1 of Protocol 1 (right to property) by Bulgaria in connection with the withdrawal of the license of Corporate Commercial Bank (Korporativna targovska banka) and the subsequent proceedings before the Supreme Administrative Court.

The judgement of the European Court of Human Rights reminded once again that the topic of Corpbank is not closed, no matter how much the political class of Bulgaria tries to run away from it.
